Multi-Family Property Waste Plan
Information.
In answer to the many questions asked ,the following is posed on the City of Regina website under Multi-Family information.
We have received no formal communication or updates.of late but are awaiting a response concerning the Waste Plan letter received by some
of a plan to be filed by May1,2024.
Starting Jan 1, 2025, your waste management strategy must include food and yard waste collection. With the latest amendments to The Waste Management Bylaw 2012-63, passed on August 16, 2023, this new requirement was brought into effect.
Multi-family properties do not automatically receive garbage, recycling, and composting services from the City of Regina. It is the responsibility of the property manager or owner to contract a waste hauler. The Waste Management Bylaw mandates that all multi-family properties must offer waste and recycling disposal services to their tenants,( we believe they mean owners as well).
Starting Jan 1, 2025, multi-family property owners/ managers will also be obligated to provide food and yard waste services to their tenants ( we believe they mean the resident owners as well), which includes food and yard waste collection, in addition to garbage and recycling services.
